Hello mumz'' i am a mother of three boy's, aged between 3yrs and 5months old. Our 5month old has had two surgery's so far ''stomer(bowel outside of tummy) and cleft lip''. He's has a small hole in his heart and will need surgery for that, were going to starship hospital on monday and he will have surgery on friday. worry.gif(worried) feelings are present but i know i must stay positive throuhout this journey for our son's sake and wellbeing...
smilesmile I am very happy that there are experienced people and the technology these days to do the repairs he needs.
After this surgery he will have to have two more before his 1st birthday..

My coping methods are: Talking to others about whats going on, and or how im feelingaww,
Whanau/friends/aquiantances, all good company!!!
Having that sincer love for my child that keeps me strong, in the worst times..smile
Treating myself or have time out now and then.... your worth it!!biggrin
Ask questions if your unsure about anything and everything, even if it sounds kind of dumb!

Dear positive mum,

thank you for sharing the tough times you are going through and also for taking time out for you.  I always remember the Italian expression "if the Mamma's not happy, the familia's (family's) not happy!!!"  Best wishes and hope it all goes well for you all.  You are an inspiration.

Raffy

Kiaora, hows things? Wow my sons just had sugery too for a hernia he is 32 weeks prem, but from that now one week before his due date, i got released from neo natal last week, and am enjoying the freedom, one thing i have done is:

Provided my son with a communication book for all people handiling his care to write something in the book for him, and thats to provide people with constant profile of his development and not leaving people out of the loop and so far its worked!

Now Starship is Awesome hopefully they got u in the Ronald mc donald house!

I have more or less been between gisborne and Waikato so yea waikato an aucklands services for special needs are Primo....

Let us know how your getting on,

Noho ora mai
